I choose this topic and I need to write a 3 page essay on the following:
Through mandatory school counseling programs, students will learn how to cope with feelings of fear, embarrassment and frustration that metastasize into acts of violence and leads them to commit massive school shootings.
I choose the topic on school shootings because this is an issue that is happening in our society today. Nowadays a former student can walk into a school and shoot 17 kids in cold blood without there being any issues. This horrific event took place in February of this year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and will never be forgotten. The shooter came to school and killed 17 victims with an AR-15 and left the building undetected. I think this I completely barbaric and we need to educate kids in schools so that this doesn’t keep happening. The first step is to teach these kids coping skills to combat frustrating situations in life. We need to obligate the schools to have counseling programs that help these troubled kids.
